Dear Friend,
Pursue the desires of your heart and not the desires of your mind, for your heart holds truth and your mind caters to the desires of your flesh. And like dust in the wind, your mind will have you pursueing life based on the patterns of the world only to find that you are "IN" today and "OUT" the next. (read Romans 12:2)
Psalm 37:1-9 says,
1 Do not fret because of evil men
or be envious of those who do wrong;
2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away.
3 Trust in the LORD and do good;
dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
4 Delight yourself in the LORD
and he will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the LORD;
trust in him and he will do this:
6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn,
the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.
7 Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;
do not fret when men succeed in their ways,
when they carry out their wicked schemes.
8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
do not fret—it leads only to evil.
9 For evil men will be cut off,
but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land.
Pursueing the desires of your heart starts by delighting yourself in the Lord.
"Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." -Proverbs 19:21
"In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps." -Proverbs 16:9
"Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." -Proverbs 16:3
"But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations." -Psalm 33:11
It is very important to trust God! I know this can be a difficult task but the Lord says, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11
My prayer for you is Psalm 20:4, "May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed."
Love,
Robert
